This overcoat features a handwoven tweed outer layer, crafted from 100% undyed Kullu wool. The fabric has been carefully felted and finished for a smooth, even hand feel. The coat is lined with naturally colored, handwoven silk from Bengal, featuring seashell buttons and two types of bull horn buttons.

Kullu wool comes from local sheep herds in the high-altitude valleys of the foothills of the Himalayas. Thicker and heavier than other wools, it results in a warmer and more durable garment. Mulberry Silk: Originating in China over 4,000 years ago, Mulberry silk is produced by domesticated silkworms that feed exclusively on mulberry leaves. The prism structure of the fibers allows for breathability, regulates body temperature, and reflects light — giving the fabric a lustrous sheen.

Hand wash individually or with like colours in cold water with a pH-neutral detergent. Machine washing on a gentle cycle with like colours is also fine. Dry cleaning is always acceptable.

Hang dry away from prolonged direct sunlight. Natural dyes do fade with sun exposure — shade drying simply slows the process, giving you more control over how the garment evolves.

These garments are made using techniques practiced for hundreds — if not thousands — of years, long before modern laundry machines and chemical detergents. A little more care returns a lot more life.
